About A Little Bit Nuts

Real talk about living with severe nut allergies. No toxic positivity, no fluff—just practical advice from someone who's been doing this for over 30 years.

My Story

I've been living with severe nut allergies for over 30 years. Diagnosed as a child, I've navigated everything from school lunchboxes to international travel, from awkward restaurant conversations to emergency hospital visits.

Over the years, I've learned what works and what doesn't. I've made mistakes, had close calls, and figured out strategies that actually help. I've also seen a lot of well-meaning but unhelpful advice, and I've watched the allergy landscape change—sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

This site exists because I wish I'd had access to honest, practical advice when I was first diagnosed. Not generic "awareness" content, but real strategies from someone who actually lives this every single day.

What This Site Is

A Little Bit Nuts is a practical resource for people with severe nut allergies. It's built on three principles:

1. Honesty Over Positivity

Living with severe allergies is hard. It's okay to say that. We don't need toxic positivity—we need real strategies that work in the real world.

2. Practical Over Theoretical

I focus on actionable advice you can use today. Not abstract concepts, but concrete steps: what to say to restaurant staff, how to read labels, when to use your auto-injector.

3. Experience Over Expertise

I'm not a medical professional, and I'll never claim to be. But I have 30+ years of lived experience, and that counts for something. I'll always point you to proper medical advice when you need it.

What You'll Find Here

  • Practical guides on everything from reading labels to eating out safely
  • Honest insights about living with allergies, new treatments, and the reality of managing this long-term
  • Product reviews from someone who actually has allergies (not sponsored fluff)
  • Restaurant menu testing services to help businesses serve allergy customers safely
  • Real talk about what works, what doesn't, and what's still a work in progress

You won't find generic "awareness" content here. You'll find stuff that might actually help you navigate life with allergies a bit more easily.

What I'm Not

Important disclaimers:

  • I'm not a medical professional. I'll always point you to your GP or allergist for medical advice.
  • I'm not a nutritionist. I can share what works for me, but dietary advice should come from qualified professionals.
  • I'm not here to sell you anything. If I recommend a product, it's because I genuinely think it's useful, not because I'm being paid.
  • I'm not an expert on every allergy. My experience is with nut allergies specifically. Other allergies have different challenges.
